Greetings from Romania!
Feb 16, 2008
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Romania! I wanted to send you a little update to let you know I am alive and well in Transylvania!
I have been here for almost a month now! It actually has not been as cold as I expected.....but there have been those days! It has snowed like 3 times since I have been here which brings such joy to my heart! My friends here just think I am crazy for wanting more winter!
I am living at the YWAM center right out side of the city of Cluj-Napoca. The YWAM center is a big house and most of the staff live there. Having been here before I knew all of the staff which was a nice blessing! They all have been great at making me feel at home. I have felt settled here but I do miss my friends!
I am splitting my time in two areas. I work in the Administration office and with Living Alternatives. In Administration I am learning to do the Accounting. I have been working with the lady that currently does it to try and translate all the words I need to know to pay the bills! This is pretty much still and all cash society so I am running all over the city to learn where to pay all the bills as well.
Living Alternatives is a ministry that reaches out to women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy. The abortion rate here in Romania is 50%. This ministry is unusual here in Romania because they take in girls that are pregnant and have no where to go. A maternity home normally here means it is a place to go after you have had the baby. L.A. sold the maternity home they had and are currently trying to raise money to build a new home. While I am here I am helping to plan a banquet for this ministry and be an assistant to the Director, Kathy Miller.
So far this has been a good adventure for me! Being here has confirmed it even more that I am suppose to be here. I miss you all and am SO blessed to have you all in my life!
Thank you SO MUCH for praying and supporting me!
God Bless,
Vania Krell
