I want the Lord's direction, even if it is staying home

May 02, 2008

Dear Friends,

My doctor told me to get a bone density test and to go back to church! My niece and I went to SS, church and lunch. I did quite well. (The test came out ok) The following Wednesday I joined a friend to visit a dear lady in a nursing home. She was so glad to see us and the Don Juan roses I took her from our yard.

So I told the Lord, "this is great! I am back in circulation and can be a part of the world outside my home." Wasn't what He had in mind! An infection I had been battling returned and has kept me home and in bed a good part of the time. We had a house guest, Jordan got severe food poisoning and the house painters finally started. Then the house guest left and two others came for a few days. Jordan is fine but I am still staying in. The painters are still painting.

Our house was looking so grungy I didn't think Floyd would approve. He always took such pride in keeping the yard and house looking nice. So I took some $$ out of savings and got the yard cleaned up and now we are painting the house...very slowly.

I want the Lord's direction, even if it is staying home. So pray with me for the future. Jordan leaves May 9 for the summer. I had hoped to go to Dallas for our annual Wycliffe Peru Branch members celebration of the Veinteocho. (July 28-Peru's Independence Day). I had the doctor's permission to travel. I would prefer to drive...if gas prices aren't $20 a gallon!

Thanks for your concern, your prayers and your financial help. I never feel alone. Love, Millie

Kelly and Kevin were here for a weekend, and my two nieces joined us.
