Dear praying friends,

As you know, our son, David teaches English in China at a university. This summer he decided to move to another city and easily got a job with a university in Baotou, the hometown of his girlfriend, Alex. They have both moved there now and Alex is having difficulty, as a new university graduate, in finding a job. That's a prayer item, but the one I'm writing about today is for David's visa. Each year his university has been able to get his visa for him. But this year, because of the Olympics and the possible problems China desperately wants to avoid, they are trying to get as many foreigners out of the country as possible -- so he has been told he cannot get a visa to teach there until after mid October when the rules go back to the normal ones. He's making some attempts, with some help from people there, to get either an extension on his current visa or a tourist visa. His current visa expires July 30, so time is very short. If he indeed has to leave and not come back till after mid October, where does he go and how does he find work for that short time? The university apparently wants him to come when the visa is available. You can see it's a real difficulty for David right now.

Would you pray with us for: 1) a miracle -- a visa allowing him to stay or,
2) clear direction where to go (exactly where -- probably in the US) to wait it out and get a new visa
and 3) peace of heart for both him and Alex, his girl friend.
and 4) a job for Alex

PS. My friend Linda has had one more surgery and praise God, she is much better and is to be going back to Indonesia this Monday!
