Dear friends and family,

Many of you have prayed for me and those in my area during the approach and passing of Hurricane Felix. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and your prayers. It is so encouraging to know that people are calling out to our Father on our behalf. On Monday morning the hurricane was a category 5 and the most likely projection put the eye of the hurricane right over La Ceiba. We battoned down the hatches and helped some friends of ours move out of their mud shack into more secure lodging on Tuesday morning. Then we only received 5 inches of rain in 24 hours and were not struck by strongs winds. The hurricane dimenished and went south, hitting a much less-populated area of the country. There was some flooding in other parts of the country and some people had to evacuate their homes. But Felix was not the destructive force that it was shaping up to be. So thank you for your prayers!

Thank you also for praying about the situation involving death threats for which I sent the prayer alert last month. The couple involved, whose names are Elsa and her boy friend Efrain, and I have come to an agreement for the next six months, but there are issues that remain unresolved. Please pray for Elsa and Efrain who are tied up with the spirit of fear, anger rage and bitterness, that their hearts would be freed by the redemption available through Jesus. Pray for me to grow in faith and trust in the Lord who is my shelter and righteousness.

Thank you also for praying for direction and fruitfulness at Finca Shalom. I will continue describing what we are doing there in later news letter.

Right now we are in the middle of the "True Love Waits" seminar at Instituto El Rey, and believing that God is doing a good work in each heart and mind. The first day of teaching, as I looked out over the audience of 180 students plus teachers I realized that every single life has been marred by sexual sins in some way. I felt the responsability and the hope of proclaiming the truth of God's perfect love, his fantastic truth, his healing and redemption to this flock of his little ones. So pray for us on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, from 1 pm to 2:15 (US Mountain Time) we are bringing to light the truth about love, sex and marriage. The Spirit of God has been speaking powerfully through Ester and me, and the students are soaking up every word. He is the one to do the work and get the glory.

In August we enjoyed a visit from Jack Dyer, the man who laid the foundation for the work which I and many others are continuing on throughout Honduras. It was an encouragement to spend time with Jack, be challenged and encouraged by him and be reminded of his faith in Christ, the heritage that this faith has set up and the shared vision for the future of God's kingdom.

Please continue to pray for Mariela, the only girl among the Acosta orphans. She has continued to reject the love, advice and care that we and some of her relatives offer her. Now, though she is pregnant, just last week she has left with another man to a village some 45 minutes drive from us. Please pray for her protection, yet a new understanding of the evil path she is choosing, her return to her Heavenly Father and his Spirit of Love to be revealed to her through us.

Thank you once again for all of you who are praying and involved in what God is doing here. You are each an integral part. We are all one "body," each with our own role to play for the One eternal purpose.

Praise the Lord for:

1. his Sovereignty over hurricanes and people who swear violence against us
2. the truth of God's love that is being communicated through the "True Love Waits" seminar
3. the challenges and yet continued growth in Lilian's life and mine in learning to express God's love to her

Pray to the Lord for:

1. Elsa and Efrain to trust God's love and let go of their anger and bitterness.
2. his truth and love to be clearly communicated and to transform lives in the "True Love Waits" seminar
3. Mariela to return to her loving heavenly Father
4. direction in finding ways to help Joel have fewer epileptic siezures
